Co-ops/Internships

Co-ops/Internships

Cooperative Education is a unique form of education which integrates classroom study with paid, planned, and supervised work experiences. It allows students to acquire essential practical skills by being exposed to the reality of the world of work beyond the classroom experience.

Clark State will provide the employer with highly qualified students who have completed their first year of an associate degree. The students you hire for co-op positions will be your employees and under your guidance.

Benefits to Employers

  • Access to a diverse pool of highly qualified, motivated and pre-screened employees
  • Reduce recruitment and training time with no advertising or employment agency costs
  • Test potential employees in your actual workplace
  • Release of your professional staff from routine tasks
  • Temporary help for staffing your seasonal needs and special projects
  • The opportunity to give Clark State input on the preparation of your future employees

Cost Benefits to Employers

  • You pay the students at your hourly rate for the job they perform
  • Co-op students tend to cost less because they do not yet have their degree
  • There is a savings on full-time fringe benefits and recruiting costs
