Federal Work-Study

Work-Study - What is Federal Work-Study

How does it work?

Funds for Federal Work-Study are distributed by the Federal Government and allocated by the Financial Aid Office at the College. Once the allocated funds have been distributed, no additional money is available for the remainder of the academic year. The Financial Aid Office makes every attempt to provide funding to the greatest number of students possible, and to ensure that funds last for the entire year. In that effort, a certain number of federal work-study positions are permitted at the start of the year. Subsequently, the number of employed students and the amount of available funding is reevaluated each quarter, and additional Federal student workers are approved for departments.

If your department is not able to hire a Federal Work-Study student in the Fall quarter, it may be possible to hire one in the Winter quarter. For more information the distribution of Federal Work-Study funds, please contact the Financial Aid Office at 328-6034.
